Fallon Sherrock wrote her name in history after defeating Ted Evetts last night. This way, she became the first woman to win a match at the PDC World Darts Championship.

Sherrock proved a point

The 25-year old darts player was ecstatic after her win. She scored six 180s with a match average of just over 91 in their first-round contest.

“I’m speechless, I don’t know what to say,” she told Sky Sports after victory.

“I feel really happy because I have proven something for women’s darts, that women can play the men and beat them, so fingers crossed this is a move in the right direction.”

The Milton Keynes born Sherrock will now go on to face Mensur Suljovic in round two of the tournament. She is fourth in the current world rankings of BDO (Brittish Darts Organisation) Women. Her best performances so far feature winning the World Darts Trophy (2018) and the Finder Masters (2015). Sherrock has also finished as a runner-up in the World Championship (2015) and the World Masters (2014).
