Carlo Ancelotti and Everton have reached an agreement and the Italian coach is set to take the job. Ancelotti may even forgo money he is owed by Napoli under the terms of his dismissal, as to speed up his appointment at Goodison Park.
Ancelotti may have been sacked by Napoli, but is still under contract until 2021. The 60-year old Italian will now hold talks with his former club, as to resolve the issues in a timely manner, so he could take over Everton.
Carlo Ancelotti returns to Premier League
Ancelotti was in London on Tuesday morning and made it clear that he’s only interested in a long-term deal with the club. He also wanted to have certainty over the club’s spending plans for the summer.
This will be Ancelotti’s return to the Premier League. He managed Chelsea between 2009-2011. He won the Premier League in 2009/10, as well as the FA Cup and Community Shield.
He will be up for a different challenge now, though, as Everton currently sit 16th in the table. Ancelotti will have to take the club out of the bottom. Interim manager Duncan Ferguson already lifted spirits at Goodison after defeating Chelsea 3-1 and drawing 1-1 with Man Utd at Old Trafford.
