Volkanovski won but suffered injury

It was visible after the match that Volkanovski wasn’t able to walk away without damage. The fighter told Submission Radio that he had broken his left hand and will need surgery to treat the damage.

“I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I’ve broke my hand,” Volkanovski said.

“Along this thumb here, I know you can see a bit of bruising there, but yeah I broke it. I got x-rays done and I need to go into surgery tomorrow. So i don’t think the operation’s too crazy, but there’s a couple of little breaks in there, so i’m going to have to get that sorted.”
