Adil Rami could be on the move to the MLS, according to reports from French sports newspaper L’Equipe. FC Dallas, Chicago Fire, and New York Red Bulls are all regarded as candidates for the 34-year old defender’s signature. Rami was part of France’s 2018 squad that won the World Cup, although he didn’t play a minute at the competition.

Rami could swap Süper Lig with MLS

Rami has been at Turkish side Fenerbahce since the summer of 2019 after his contract with Marseille expired. Things haven’t been great for the player, though, as he’s only featured in 5 games for the club. It would probably be better for both sides if he gets transferred.

However, the potential deal depends on whether Fenerbahce will be able to land Guinea national team defender Simon Falette on loan. While there is a formal agreement between Fenerbahce and Eintracht Frankfurt for the transfer of the player, the Turkish government needs to approve it.

Adil Rami started his playing career at the southern coast city of Fréjus for the local club with the same name in the fourth division of French football. After impressing scouts, he was offered a trial at Lille and went on to sign for the club. He played 163 games for the club before moving to defend the colors of Valencia, Milan, Sevilla, and Marseille.
