UFC President Dana White has already revealed who will be Conor McGregor’s possible next opponent. The Irish superstar is set to fight Donald Cerrone on January 18 in Las Vegas. This will be McGregor’s return to the Octagon after he last fought Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018.
Dana White already planned McGregor calendar
White already has plans for McGregor’s next opponent – Jorge Masvidal. A rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov is still on the cards, as well, but a couple of factors need to be executed beforehand.
“Conor has told me he definitely wants a fight with Masvidal, so we’ll see what happens,” White said to 101.6FM.
“A couple of things have got to happen first; he’s got to beat ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone which is a very tough fight, especially at 170 without ‘Cowboy’ having to cut weight. Then Khabib has to beat Tony Ferguson. If both of those things happen then yeah I think we can make the rematch.”
“He [McGregor] would rather take that fight [vs Nurmagomedov] right now and not fight ‘Cowboy’, he wants that fight really bad. In reality, Rich, it would be the biggest pay per view ever in the history of the sport,” the UFC boss added.
31-year old McGregor has expressed his desire to be more active in UFC in 2020, so there still time for us to see a second clash with Nurmagomedov or other interesting MMA fights.
