Anthony Johnson has announced on his Twitter that he will make a return to UFC 248 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on March 7. The former two-time light heavyweight title contender has been out of UFC for nearly three years.

Anthony Johnson had two light heavyweight title matches

Anthony “Rumble” Johnson last fought in UFC 210, where he lost his light heavyweight title match against then-champion Daniel Cormier via submission. Johnson had previously lost another light heavyweight title match against Daniel Cormier, again via submission for the then-vacant belt. Johnson retired from MMA shortly after the second clash between the two.

Since then, he has spoken about a potential heavyweight return to the UFC. While the promotion has not yet announced anything in regards to a Johnson comeback, he will certainly be a welcome addition to the UFC roster.

Johnson has a UFC record of 22-6 with 16 of his wins coming via KO.
