On March 10, 2010, the Indiana University School of Journalism’s National Sports Journalism Center and the Associated Press Sports Editors hosted a free workshop titled "Investigating the Business of College Athletics:" how to dig into the finances of your local colleges’ athletic programs. The workshop, which was sponsored by the Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism at Arizona State University, was held at Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis and was divided into morning and afternoon sessions, with NCAA Vice President and Senior Adviser Wallace Renfro – as well as Jodi Upton and Steve Berkowitz of USA Today — speaking in the morning session. Upton and Berkowitz also spoke in the afternoon session, as did Rob King, Vice President/Editor-in-Chief ESPN Digital.
