Executive Committee approves 2014 conference hotel, OnMilwaukee.com’s membership Oct. 30, 2012
APSE’s Executive Committee unanimously approved the Marriott Crystal Gateway in the Washington D.C. suburb of Arlington, Va., as the headquarters hotel for APSE's June 25-28, 2014 summer conference. The e-mail vote was 15-0.
The room rate for this Marriott will be $189. Complimentary Internet in the sleeping rooms is included in the room rate. Shuttle service to and from Reagan Airport is free.
The Crystal Gateway Marriott is a large hotel with a large lobby and bar. A Metro stop is located steps away in an underground "city" that features shops and restaurants and sports bars. There are 50 restaurants nearby, below and above ground. Downtown D.C. is 10 minutes away by the Metro.
"This is a fabulous spot, close to area attractions and accessible to public transportation," APSE president Gerry Ahern said. "Washington has so much to enjoy, from museums and monuments to big-league baseball and big-time nightlife.
"It should be a wonderful venue for our summer convention."

In another e-mail vote, the Executive Committee approved membership for OnMilwaukee.com. The vote was 20-1.
OnMilwaukee.com was founded in 1998 and currently averages 400,000 unique visits and 1.5 million views per month. It publishes about 120 articles and blogs per week, including sports. The site's content, writers and design have earned many local and national awards.
