The schedule for the meeting at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., is as follows.
 
9:15-10:30 a.m.: Beyond Internet 101.
What’s the next “new” thing in new media? How do you go beyond Twitter, video and slideshows? A look at using advanced technology and web tools to take your web presence to the next level. Featuring Mark LaMonica of Newsday and Dr. Karen Schrier, Assistant Professor of Media Arts at Marist College. Moderated by Matt Pepin of Boston.com.
 
10:45-11: 30 a.m.: Watchdog sports journalism.
Justin Rodriguez of the Times Herald-Record in Middletown, N.Y., will discuss how he exposed preferential treatment given to a state championship high school basketball team.
 
1:45 p.m.-3 p.m.: Tapping Academia.
Marist professor Keith Strudler leads a panel that explores how you can tap the college world, both local and around the nation, for expert sources and insight on topics ranging from the business of sports to sports medicine, and everything in between.
 
3:15-5 p.m.: How to break into the business (and then get where you want to be).
Hank Winnicki of Newsday leads a session that will give students an idea of what sports editors are looking for, and give sports editors an idea of how our next hires are being trained. Featuring Gerald McNulty, Director of the Communication Internship Program at Marist; Bill Hill, MLB.com director of internships and recruiting; and Alex Weprin, Editor at Mediabistro.com.
