The deadline for the APSE contest was Tuesday, and judging is set to take place next month.

Contest chair Phil Kaplan will assign you a roommate if you want. Just let him know. If you still are interested in judging, there’s time to register. Just let Kaplan know about that as well. Phil’s e-mail is kaplanp@knoxnews.com.

Judges should plan on arriving in time for a 5 p.m. meeting on Saturday, March 6. A cocktail reception will follow.

Judging groups will meet on Sunday in the assigned rooms starting at 8:30 a.m. Contest chairs will determine how the group will spend the rest of the day. You will have homework assignments.

That evening at around 6, judges are invited to a one-hour session the will focus on improving your skills and your staff using social media (Twitter, Facebook). Tim Stephens and Matt Humphrey will showcase the great work being done by The Orlando Sentinel.
