APSE again running ads for job openings Dec. 17, 2009
Completing the transition to APSE’s new Web site, the organization is again accepting classified advertising.
The APSE Help Wanted Board has been one of the industry’s most popular job sites since its inception more than a decade ago. Throughout that time, the board was managed by past APSE president Bob Yates and his colleagues at the Dallas Morning News.
With APSE launching a new site hosted by Indiana University’s National Sports Journalism Center this fall, responsibility for posting content and most site functions has shifted to APSE officers. That now includes the classifieds, which re-launched this week with the guidance of the web team at IU.
Rates for ads remain unchanged — $25 for APSE members under 100,000 circulation, $50 for those over and $150 for all non-members. Instead of sending postings to Yates, they’ll now go to APSE Executive Director Jack Berninger.
In addition to Help Wanted ads, there’s a section devoted to Services Offered (the fee is $50) and sections for Interns Wanted and Jobs Wanted — both of which are free, services provided by APSE.
I’d personally like to thank again Bob Yates and Chuck Grimes, as well as Bob’s assistants who have handled the billing, for their help with the listings all these years.
