A new study finds that many news executives sense change for the better in their newsroom cultures today.
And, financially, Gannett reported a 50 percent jump in its first quarter profits, and several other companies got off to solid starts this year. Nevertheless, fewer than half of those executives surveyed by the Pew Center this spring said they are confident their operations will survive another 10 years without significant new sources of revenue.
Nearly a third said their operations are at risk in five years or less. We explore the future of the news business with four of the nation’s top experts — two leading editors, a top Gannett publisher and one of America’s foremost media industry analysts — in a must-attend general session at APSE’s annual convention, taking place June 23 to 26 in Salt Lake City.
