2014 hotel recommended; Vote needed Oct. 18, 2012
APSE's officers recommend the Marriott Crystal Gateway in the Washington D.C. suburb of Arlington, Va., as the hotel for APSE's June 25-28, 2014 summer conference.
The room rate for this Marriott will be $189. Downtown D.C. hotels that were checked were $209 and up.
Complimentary Internet in the sleeping rooms is included in the room rate. Shuttle service to and from Reagan Airport is free.
The Crystal Gateway Marriott is a large hotel with a large lobby and bar. An Metro stop is located steps away in an underground "city" that features shops and restaurants and sports bars. There are 50 restaurants nearby, below and above ground. Downtown D.C. is 10 minutes away by the Metro.
An Internet vote by the Executive Committee — current officers, region chairs, past [presidents — is needed because this proposal is on the table for just two weeks.
