SourceMedia Group has an opening for an editor who would be responsible for editing and curating sports content, photos and videos for online, print, mobile devices and social media. This evening/weekend shift position will be working with a sports staff that provides multimedia content for The Gazette (second-largest paper in Iowa), KCRG-TV9 (the top broadcast station in Eastern Iowa) as well as our sports web sites: thegazette.com, kcrg.com and iowaprepsports.com.
This position requires a bachelor's degree in journalism, English or related field and 2-4 years experience in digital and print editing. In the absence of a bachelor's degree, you would need 5 years experience. Candidates must have solid sports background, strong grammar, proofreading and editing skills, sound news judgment and ability to work on deadline. Experience in Saxopress (InCopy/InDesign) a plus.
