Associate Digital Editor Feb. 6, 2012

Sporting News, based in Charlotte, N.C., is seeking a full-time editor for our digital operations — Sportingnews.com, The Sporting News tablet app and mobile apps.
 
This position requires relocating to Charlotte and working nights and weekends.
 
Duties include:
* Working closely with content editors to update and manage Sportingnews.com’s sports channels
* Reacting to breaking news, including rewrites when needed
* Editing and publishing staff and wire content for website and tablet app
* Packaging content with related links, videos and photos
* Editing, building pages for The Sporting News app
 
Requirements:
* General knowledge of SN’s eight core sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NASCAR, MLS, college football, college basketball)
* Work accurately, quickly on deadline
* Familiar with Associated Press copy editing style
* Tireless work ethic
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
* General understanding of SEO, analytics, outreach strategies
