The program is set for the APSE Northwest Region Meeting on May 3 at the Tacoma News Tribune. The session will cover many of the major realities we face: “Doing More with Less,” “Beyond blogging (embracing social media),” “Future shock (the next big changes on the horizon)” and “Improving Prep Coverage.” In addition, we’ll bring back “AP Firing Line,” allowing us to hear from AP Seattle about recent changes, and we’ll have the “Best in the Northwest” slide show of some of the best work we’ve done in the past year.
The Associated Press Sports Editors Northeast Region spring meeting will be held May 3 at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. All sports journalism professionals are welcome to attend. Sports editors who can’t attend are encouraged to send another member of their staff for a day of professional development, networking and ideas sharing.

International growth potential and collective-bargaining agreements were recurring themes during Thursday’s opening sessions of the annual Associated Press Sports Editors commissioners meetings in New York.
Elections remain open for 2nd Vice President and 3rd Vice President for APSE.
An outline for the program at the APSE convention in Salt Lake City has been set. Following is a basic outline. Stories on each session plus a look at the social program for families and significant others during the day and editors at night will appear on the web site in coming days.

The schedule is complete for APSE’s annual meetings with the commissioners and chief executives of the nation’s major sports organizations, April 22 and 23 in New York City. The meetings are open to all members. Writers are encouraged to attend sessions.
